Caister-on-Sea is a village with significant Roman heritage, including the remains of Caister Roman Fort. It is part of Rupert Lowe's Great Yarmouth constituency.

Rupert Lowe has represented Great Yarmouth as Member of Parliament since July 2024. He was elected on the Reform UK ticket with 35.3% of the vote and a majority of 1,426.
Since his election, Lowe has raised local issues in Parliament and established Great Yarmouth First as a local political party to represent constituency interests at council level.
